I got to visit with he baby for over an hour, part of the time with the birthmother and part of the time with Pasture. He is doing so awesome and such a little fighter. The surgeon came in this morning and pushed some more of his bowels in. I think it looked like at least 1/2 of what was left out last night was pushed/or went back in. His tummy does look a little more swollen and they did have to up the setting on the ventilator, but they said this all normal. His lungs are having to learn to share the space in his abdomen. His body has no swelling which great. And the biggest news...HE POOPED!! That is a huge step for him. As long as he learns to eat and poop he will be home much quicker. We are hoping for his closure surgery to come some time next week. He has so many IV's it is so sad. He is on pain medication, a sedative, medicine to paralyze him so he doesn't mess with anything, medicine to help reduce swelling, his nutrition, and an arterial line. I got to meet his biological older brother who is so sweet! I wish I could post his name. Pasture and I picked his first name. The birthmother picked his middle name which was her father's name. His name fits him perfectly!
The surgeon pushed more down and tied the bag to keep it down. It is unbelievable how little is left.
His hand holding my finger. His hands are so tiny!
Look at all that long black hair!
His tiny calf that is about the size of my finger.
All of the medicines he is getting!
