Day 5 -- August 3

Today is the day I officially become a mother to 3 children!!  Of course we still have to wait a few months for the adoption to be finalized, but he is in our custody.  He continues to do awesome.  The surgeon actually called him "the stuff of legends."  His intestines are back in, his surgery is still scheduled for Monday, and his blood gases and vitals are perfect.  He is doing a little better breathing, and they were able to turn down his ventilator some.  He weighs 4 lbs 3 oz.  The best part of my visits was him squeezing my finger.  Since he is on a paralytic and sedation, he doesn't move very much at all, so squeezing a finger is a big deal.  Sadly, today Pasture had to return home.  The girls start school on Monday and he needs to get back to work.  I will miss him a lot, as I miss the girls, but I'm so thankful to be staying in a nice place like Ronald McDonald House.
